About Wellory

Wellory is a tech company on a mission to make personalized nutrition accessible for all. Wellory believes everyone deserves a healthy, long term relationship with food.

At Wellory they created a science-based, credential-backed app: To help more of us build healthy habits for the long haul.

The Challenge

The Challenge

Wellory were connecting beta users with nutrition coaches, and the main call to action was to share photos of their meals. The users got coaching via messaging to build healthier habits based on what they were already eating. The challenge of using an SMS solution was that Wellory didn’t have a place to host the images or track the progress and goals that coaches and clients were setting.

The team needed to move from an SMS solution to a system where the customers and nutrition coaches were connected via an app that could better solve their needs.

Solution

The initial scope of work was to build MVPs for both the client and coaching apps. Wellory decided to launch on iOS and Android because they had been testing their text-based solution for nine months, validating their MVP.

In addition, we built a web admin, which is where Wellory manages administrative tasks between coaches and clients and have dashboards set up. We’ve since built an additional web coaching app, which gives providers the flexibility to work on desktop or mobile, depending on their preference.

Customer App

Build a connection with your Nutrition Coach

For a person to change their eating habits, getting ongoing support is a very important part of the process. Wellory adapted to this by making the Nutrition Coach available for every new user for a 30-min “get to know you” call, daily message-based check-ins, and the openness to answer any question.

Users share and track meals

As a user starts their journey to build a healthier relationship with food, they can keep a diary of their meals by snapping photos and sharing them with their Nutrition Coach. They receive ongoing feedback, keep track of how they’re sticking to their habits and also monitor their qualitative progress over time.

Every user builds habits at their own pace

A user will receive custom recommendations in the ‘My Plan’ section, based on their personal health goals. They can start small and work up from there. Users build new habits and work on maintaining them over time with the accountability of photo-sharing and ongoing Nutrition Coach support.

Every user receives a personalised plan

To help form new habits, a client’s Nutrition Coach will send them personalized Recipe Ideas, as well as recommended shopping list items, up-to-date with ingredients that will help the users build and maintain their habits.

A web and mobile solution that works together

The product helps each Coach keep track of the clients they’re working with a compact customer relationship manager. Here, the Coach can access a user’s profile, their plan, their shared meal history, as well as a private notes section.
