The Challenge


Christians had been left behind when it came to tech which facilitated healthy habits built around mindfulness and meditation.

Although there were many successful secular apps, none existed to help people take time for prayer, worship, and spiritual connection on a daily basis. Christians struggle to find quiet time to connect with their faith. There was a need for an app that fuses technology and faith, giving Christians a place to come every day and connect with God and their community to experience the joy and intimacy of connecting with their faith.

Here’s what we did

Glorify is now the leading Christian daily worship app worldwide and used by millions every week. To facilitate their explosive growth, we quickly and effectively scaled operations across product strategy, design, and development.

We built user flows essential for creating a great UX design that could straighten out the user’s path, identifying the problems they might encounter and how to address them. The result was an improved evaluation and optimization of the user experience, consequently increasing user conversion rates.

An intuitive, engaging product which is delightful to use and rich with social features.

Connect with God every day through handpicked Bible verses, curated devotionals, dedicated time for reflection, together with the community through prayer.

Habit-Formation

We co-created and experimented with multiple habit-formation practices such as daily exercises, tasks lists, and gamification dynamics.

Progressive Disclosure

Users unlock additional content by completing their daily task list, which provides a sense of reward and progress through engaging visuals.

Bite-Sized Content

The content on the Today screen is bite-sized, taking 1-4 minutes to complete. This makes them quick to consume and easy to digest.

Personal space for prayers

A customizable space to create and share prayers for strengthening the relationship within the community and with God.

Guided by Christian values, inclusivity, dedication to users, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence.

We based Glorify’s design language around a friendly, fresh and warm colour palette that inspired optimism and interaction.

Ease of use and accessibility for a diverse, global audience was front of mind when designing a clean, intuitive UI which lent itself to habit-formation. We combined two fonts, bringing tradition and modernity into visual harmony, and created fun and colourful custom icons to bring life to interactive elements.

Glorify’s architecture is designed for scalability and reliability, ensuring a smooth experience for its users regardless of traffic spikes or unexpected events.

On the backend, Glorify employs a combination of Node.js and MongoDB, leveraging Node.js's event-driven architecture and MongoDB's high performance and scalability to handle the application's data management needs.

Together with the wider Glorify team, we identified a leading North Star metric, predictive of user engagement and retention, and worked through a set of experiments to remove barriers to value.
