Project overview
Paradise Weddings is the companion app and wedding website builder for couples marrying abroad. Couples share their itinerary, post updates and manage their guest list, while guests chat, join events and pool every photo from the weekend in one private space.
Paradise has planned more than 2,500 destination weddings across Mexico and the Caribbean. Tapptitude worked with the Paradise team from the first strategy workshop through UX, design, a React Native app, a web platform for wedding websites and RSVPs, and the ongoing support of both.

The Challenge
A destination wedding is a long weekend for a hundred people in an unfamiliar place, and the plans keep changing.
Guests fly in from different cities, stay at the same resort and need to know where the welcome drinks are, when the shuttle leaves and which events they are invited to. Couples ended up juggling a wedding website, an RSVP tool, group chats and shared albums, and still answered the same questions over and over. The photos from the weekend scattered across a hundred phones. Paradise wanted one place for all of it: the public wedding website and RSVPs before the trip, and a private space for the couple and their guests during and after it.
Here’s what we did
We designed and built a React Native app for couples and guests and a web platform for wedding websites and RSVPs, both on one backend, so a guest who answers the RSVP online lands in the app with every event, update and photo waiting.
Features
Everything about the wedding weekend, in one shared space.
The app covers the days at the destination: events, news, chat and photos. The web platform covers the months before: the wedding website, invitations and RSVPs. Both share the same guest list, so nobody is entered twice.
Events for every moment
From the welcome party to the farewell brunch, couples create events and sub-events, open to everyone or invite-only, and guests see who is going.
Announcements that land
Shuttle moved? Swim-up bar at six? The couple posts an update and every guest gets it at once, with important news pinned on top.
Chat with everyone
One-on-one and group chats with replies, reactions and GIFs, built to stay fast with the whole wedding party online.
One gallery for the weekend
Guests upload photos and videos straight from their phones into a shared gallery the couple can download later.
Guest list under control
Invite by link or QR code, approve requests to join and see who is attending each event.
Website Builder
A wedding website in minutes, without a designer.
A setup wizard asks for the wedding date, the partner and whether search engines may list the site. Couples then pick a theme, choose their sections, from Our Story with its milestones to the schedule, travel and stay, registry and FAQ, and drag them into order. The RSVP form is theirs to shape: attendance per event, meal preferences and their own labels, with duplicate guests caught before they reach the list. A guest tracker filters every answer and exports it to CSV, and it is the same guest list the app uses.
Design System
Designed for a beach chair, not a desk
A warm off-white canvas, a serif wordmark, night-blue event cards and a sunlit yellow for the actions that matter.
A warm off-white canvas, a serif wordmark, night-blue event cards and a sunlit yellow for the actions that matter.
Guests open the app between a pool party and a sunset dinner, often for the first time, so every screen answers one question: what is happening next, and am I going? Events sit on night-blue cards that stay readable in bright sun, with a single yellow Attend button. Announcements use soft yellow cards, so news never gets lost in the feed. The serif Paradise wordmark carries the romance; everything else stays clean and quiet, with real photos doing the decorative work. The same choices run through the app, the website builder and the wedding websites guests see, so the couple's site and the app feel like one product.
Technologies
One backend behind the app and the web, built to keep a whole wedding party in sync.
The app is a single Expo React Native codebase for iOS and Android, with over-the-air updates through EAS. Wedding websites and the couple dashboard run on Next.js, and both talk to a NestJS backend on MongoDB, with Redis and Socket.io keeping chat and updates real time across servers. Photos and videos are processed with Sharp and stored on AWS, and the infrastructure is provisioned with Terraform.
